Frequently Asked Questions
Open TrueNorth, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Your subscription status is synced through your Apple ID, so as long as you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase, your Premium access will be restored.
TrueNorth uses your current location to calculate the direction and distance to your saved destination. Without location access, the compass cannot determine which way to point. Your location data stays on your device and is not sent to any external servers.
Make sure location services are enabled for TrueNorth in your iPhone Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → TrueNorth → set to "While Using"). Also ensure your device is not in Airplane Mode and that you are not near strong magnetic interference (metal objects, electronics). Try restarting the app if the issue persists.
Go to the Saved tab in the app. From there you can add new destinations, delete existing ones, or tap on a different destination to set it as your active compass target. Free users can save up to 2 destinations; Premium unlocks unlimited saved places.
The free version of TrueNorth includes ads served by Google AdMob. Upgrading to TrueNorth Premium removes all advertisements for a clean, distraction-free compass experience.
TrueNorth subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel, go to iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → TrueNorth Premium → Cancel Subscription. You will keep Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Troubleshooting
Compass Not Working
- Ensure Location Services are enabled for TrueNorth in iOS Settings.
- Move away from strong magnetic sources (magnets, electronics, metal structures).
- Try calibrating your compass by moving your phone in a figure-eight motion.
- Restart the app or restart your device.
Widget Not Updating
- The TrueNorth widget is available for Premium subscribers only.
- Widget updates are managed by iOS and may not refresh in real time.
- Try removing and re-adding the widget to your home screen.
Subscription Issues
- Use the "Restore Purchases" option in Settings if your Premium access is not showing.
- Make sure you are signed in to the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
