Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TrueNorth ("the app"), an iOS compass application. By downloading or using TrueNorth, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

TrueNorth is a compass application that calculates and displays the direction and distance from your current location to a saved destination. It is designed for personal, casual use and is not intended as a professional navigation tool.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

TrueNorth offers optional Premium subscriptions with the following options:

• Monthly subscription — billed monthly through the App Store.
• Yearly subscription — billed annually through the App Store.

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. TrueNorth does not directly handle payment information. For current pricing, see the subscription options in the app or on the App Store listing.

3. Auto-Renewal

TrueNorth Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the subscription price.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings:

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
• Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
• Select TrueNorth Premium.
• Tap Cancel Subscription.

After cancellation, you will retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

5. Free Trial

TrueNorth may offer free trial periods for eligible new subscribers. If a free trial is available, it will be displayed at the time of purchase. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will convert to a paid subscription and your Apple ID will be charged.

6. End User License Agreement

Use of TrueNorth is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). You can review Apple's standard EULA at: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula

7. Limitations of Use

TrueNorth is designed for personal, casual orientation and is provided "as is." It is not intended for and should not be relied upon for:

• Emergency navigation or rescue situations
• Survival situations
• Aviation or marine navigation
• Professional surveying or mapping
• Any use requiring certified location precision

Compass accuracy depends on device hardware, magnetic interference, and environmental conditions. TrueNorth makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or reliability of direction or distance readings.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrueNorth and its developer shall not be held liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, including but not limited to indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
